EAA and support for schools

Formal Cognitive and Learning Assessment (Ages 8–15)

This comprehensive assessment identifies a pupil’s cognitive strengths and weaknesses, literacy attainment, and potential barriers to learning. The focus is on providing tailored resources and strategies to meet individual needs and support applications for funding or an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Please note: This assessment does not diagnose dyslexia, but it does include evaluation of the following areas where relevant:

  • Underlying cognitive ability

  • Working memory

  • Processing speed

  • Phonological awareness

  • Reading comprehension, accuracy, and fluency

  • Spelling and written expression

  • Handwriting

  • Number skills and motor skills (if applicable)

What You’ll Receive:
A detailed report including test scores, analysis, referral guidance (if needed), and practical recommendations for school and home.

Cost: £500 per pupil

 

Pupil Support Plans

Our Pupil Support package includes a school visit focused on a named pupil with literacy needs. This involves a one-to-one meeting with the pupil and the creation of an action plan with tailored recommendations and support strategies.

Additional elements may include:

  • Direct pupil observation

  • Book reviews

  • Meetings with relevant staff

  • Access to supporting resources

  • Loan of materials and assessment tools

Dyslexia Screener Service

Available to pupils from Year 1 and above. The screening test considers:

  • Vocabulary knowledge

  • Letter and word identification

  • Reading fluency

Package includes:

  • Group administration (2–4 pupils) of a standardised screening test

  • Individual summary report with an “at risk” index (an indication of dyslexia likelihood, not a diagnosis)

  • Recommendations addressing identified literacy barriers

Note: From Year 4 onwards, the cost of a group screener or pupil support plan can be deducted from a full diagnostic assessment if completed within 12 months of the initial visit.
